We believe in the transforming power of the gospel in peoples lives. When people come to know Christ as Lord and Savior and the Savior of sinners, lives are transformed. Christ is then both the great reconciler and agitator: He reconciles us with God and agitates us against sin
As a response to the gospel and to the One who has saved us by His grace, we will worship God. We believe that, as Christians, we are called to a joyful reverent worship. We are to proclaim the excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)
There is no "I" in team. We believe that all Christians are called to use their spiritual gifts for the betterment of the church and for the glory of God. Although we have a church planter, we need many gardners to cast the seed of the gospel throughout the Smithfield/Carrollton area of Virginia
How are we to know what God requires of us unless we read His Word? How are we to grow in grace if we can only stomach the elementary things of God? We want to grow in our understanding of who God is, how sinful we are and the atonement of Christ, so that we might love Him all the more. As we study the Bible, it should be true of us that our convictions continue to narrow, while our love for each other and for the lost continues to broaden.
We want to lovingly engage people who do not believe with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We want to spread the good news of Jesus as He commanded His followers to do in Acts 1:8. "...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth." Our Jerusalem is Smithfield, our Judea is Tidewater, our Samaria is North America and the uttermost parts of the earth are as described. This means that we desire to share the gospel with our neighbors and friends in Smithfield, and then broaden our approach to include all of the world. The United States is a mission field and we understand that we are living in a post-Christian nation that desperately needs the gospel of faith and repentance.
We are committed to loving one another and bearing one another's burdens. As Christians, we are called to mourn with those who mourn and to rejoice with those who rejoice. We want to build a church (remember that the church is the people, not the building) that loves one another and loves those around them with the gospel of Christ. We are also committed to relationships in this community that are authentic and gospel driven. We become a family together as we grow in Christ together. We value children in this community knowing that we have been entrusted with a precious resource and the best that we can give our children is the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Worshiping together as a community of faith is a holy
